Goose Hollow

Photo of Goose Hollow Sign

Neighborhood Description: Before the automobile, Goose Hollow was considered to be a suburb where the family farm was and is now the historical neighborhood that is on the outskirts of downtown Portland. Now the area is considered centrally located (adjacent to and walking distance from downtown). The center point of the neighborhood is NW 18th & Salmon and the surrounding blocks. This neighborhood is a mix of residential and commercial, while maintaining strong pedestrian traffic. As Goose Hollow has allowed room for businesses to grow during the past thirty years, it has reduced its housing population by nearly half, but still remains one of the most densely populated areas of Portland and is a community that will grow for years to come.
