Wow and Flutterville Playgarden is opening a new NE center in September!
Opening at 4114 N Vancouver Ave, the new center will serve children ages 6 weeks – 5 years of age, year-round, in a Waldorf-inspired playgarden. Wow and Flutterville’s curriculum is open-ended, free-play, and children spend large portions of each day outside, rain or shine; they believe that kindness with Mother Nature is the best teacher!
Organic, vegetarian meals are served and the children enjoy weekly visits from guest French and music teachers. Part of Wow and Flutterville’s mission is diversity and inclusion, and as such they have partnered with Irco and Catholic Charities to hire and train refugee and immigrants to work as assistants and enter into their teacher training program.

Bar Norman opening in July!
Dana Frank, a nationally-celebrated sommelier and author, is opening her own wine bar, Bar Norman. Portland Monthly, the Portland Mercury and PDX Eater have written about the anticipated opening due to her success with restaurants like Ava Gene’s and Dame.
She aims to create a “stripped-down, exclusively natural wine bar” that will serve 20-25 glass pours with no bottle list. Frank intends for Bar Norman to feel less like a wine bar and more like a cocktail bar. There will be 30 seats between the bar, a communal table and a front window area, with a very minimalistic design. Bar Norman will serve small snacks and plans to feature classes, bottles-to-go, visiting winemakers and a hospitality mentorship program in the future.
Frank looks forward to her new project, quoting, “I’ve had the good fortune of working at all of these amazing places, but I’m ready to strip it all away and just do something really simple that resonates with me and where I am in my life. It’s just about the wine.” – Portland Monthly
Bar Norman will open at 2615 SE Clinton just after the 4th of July, 2018.
Super Deluxe drive-thru coming soon on SE Powell!
Micah Camden and Matt Lynch have another project about to launch: Super Deluxe. The new drive-thru will open in the former Taco Time space at 50th & Powell, serving burgers along with breakfast and other classic drive-thru foods.

Super Deluxe will be open from 6 am – 1 am daily with a projected opening date of July 16.
