After more than 17 years with SRS Real Estate Partners, Ron Dowhaniuk has joined Urban Works Real Estate as Senior Vice President specializing in National and Regional Retailer and Restaurant representation through the state of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Ron brings 25 years of retail real estate knowledge, leadership and has a client list as long as your arm! Over the last Twenty years Ron has built a prestigious retail advisory services business, and NOW is the perfect time to add Ron’s expertise to complement our existing retail brokerage team.
What will you be doing for Urban Works?
I’ve had the privilege to support and council incubating and best-in-class brands in various categories, and have assisted international retailers with a U.S. transition or expansion as well as early retail template formation for domestic and digitally native brands such as Uniqlo and Indochino.
I represent premiere retailers including AKT, Pure Barre, Burger King, Carter’s, Club Pilates, Corner Bakery Cafe, Food Hall Co., Five Guys, Fossil, Perfect Look, Row House, Sleep Number, Stretch Lab, Villa Sport, the Vitamin Shoppe, Walgreens, Yankee Candle, Sandbox, Ideal Image, Food Depot, Goldfish Swim School and Yoga Six.
I have also worked with Macy’s and JC Penney Department Stores, TGI Fridays Restaurants, Office Depot, Circuit City, Linens & Things, Home Depot and Romano’s Macaroni Grill Restaurants helping them with a full market penetration of stores.
What did you do prior to joining Urban Works?
Previously, I was a Senior VP with SRS Real Estate Partners here in Portland. While there I spent 17 years overseeing a retail team involved with professional tenant representation and shopping center leasing throughout OR and Southwest WA.
Prior to that I was a Senior Marketing Consultant of the Retail Properties Division at Grubb & Ellis Company in Portland.
I have been involved with professional tenant representation, shopping center development and leasing from the ground up including proforma analysis, site acquisition, pre-leasing of anchors and shop space, out-parcel leasing and sales, design layout, tenant mix strategy and shopping center investment sales for 28 years.
Give us a personal fact or two.
I am involved with many civic and social organizations. My wife and I have been married twenty-nine years and are the proud parents of two boys.
What are you looking forward to?
The Portland Metropolitan Area has 2.6 million people, which would make it twenty-sixth largest MSA in the United States. All these Portlanders have driven intense demand that’s supporting International, National brands as well as boutiques in the market. By joining Urban Works Real Estate, I am excited to share my experiences and relationships with this prominent brokerage team in the marketplace. I believe that the unparalleled resources and support structure that the Urban Works platform provides will help us excel in servicing all the firm’s clients’ requirements.
